Popping the Question....
Casey came out during Christmas and I knew he was going to be asking my dad- I thought that was the one and only big reason for this trip along with getting closer to the Boxer Clan. He kept saying that he needed to talk to my dad in order to ge thte stress of it all off his chest. Keep in mind I had suggested he wait until the last day of the trip because I thought if anything would be awkward it would be hanging around a man you just asked to take his daughter.... so I was trying to help! But he kept pushing it and so finlly I thought well do whatever is going to help you feel more comfortable. HE DID IT AND LIVED! Just teasin... I wasn't worried I knew my dad was just as nervous! Ha Ha. SO then New Years Eve came and he wanted to g out to a nice dinner- this was so surprise, Casey would want to do something like that anyway... but the kicker came when I told him I had made plans for us that night to see my girlfriends at a New Years Eve Party. So we went to dinner at Clydes in Reston Town Center. Of course I ate until I was about to throw up... but we took some pictures asked a weird random couple to snap a shots then we went home. I said I had to go home and change because I was about to burst out of my pants I was so full! On the car ride home Casey was acting weird- I thought he was being really quiet so I kept asking him what was wrong. "Oh, nothin." Yeah oh nothin is right! Geeze! I thought he might have been a little bummed because we were going to hang out with a bunch of people he didn't know too well. So we got home and I went upstairs, while I thought he was just hanging out watching TV downstairs. Then he was yelling to me to come down stairs and talk to him and I was yelling back for him to come upstairs- oh don't you worry this went on for a good couple of minutes. Thats when I started getting suspicious but I still didn't know what was going on. I then committed the ultimate sin of bride to be- I snooped! I went into his room and looked through his stuff hunting for a ring! HOW AWFUL! I didn't find anything so I again didn't think it was going to happen. I go downstairs to the basement... candles are lit, the lights are dimmed and our song is playing. All I remember is I kept saying what are you doing, what are you doing.... He was holding in his hands a gold rose and he said... "Julie I have ne more present for you. Will you dance with me?" So while we were dancing he is whispering sweet nothings into my ear and I am balling... what a sap! Then he tried to get on one knee but I had my death grip on him and wouldn't let him go! I don't remember how but he teared me away and got on one knee... this is when the question asking on my part got intense... what are you doing whats going on? He said, "Julie I have one more question for you... will you marry me?" I don't know how to describe what happened next... its a mix between a romance and horror movie! MY face was all splatchy from crying... I didn't really speak just kind of shook my head and kissed him. That is just gonna have to do for an answer! I was shaking and crying and he was crying... definately one of the best moments of my life. We just hugged and kept telling each other how much we loved the other and laughed and cried. Then I said oh shoot we gotta go I told Jenny (Jenny Decker) we would pick her up ten minutes ago! What a moment! Then we had an awesome night... and just like me graduating I called everyone in my family and no one answered- where are these people during HUGE moments of my life!!!
