Casey's career in rugby started and ended with a BANG- naturally! When Casey's younger brother, Cameron, started playing rugby with high school friends senior year Casey got interested in the sport as well. Although Casey was a freshman at the University of Utah and the team he was playing on was Skyline HIGH SCHOOL Rugby team he didn't feel the least bit guilty running those guys down! Casey loved rugby- who wouldn't running guys down, getting dirty, wearing short shorts- a true man sport! After his first year playing with high school boys Casey tried rugby out with the big dogs at Utah University. Casey played on Utah's A squad as center. With rugby came its injuries and Casey had his fair share- one thumb surgery, a torn hamstring, separated shoulder, concussion, and a broken foot which took two surgeries to fix! So I guess you can say even though Casey loved rugby it didn't always love him back. Even with all these injuries Casey was known on the team from his hard work and determination to get up and get back on the field. The biggest heartbreaker of all was when Casey tore his hamstring during the Elite Eight game- that same year Casey would watch his team go to the Collegiate Rugby Championship Game.
