Things Are Different...

We have an addition and we are adjusting. Cannon came to us November 20th at 11:51 PM after being induced at 1 PM. We came into the hospital to have the little guy monitored because he decided to stop moving around and the worry wart inside of me got nervous. They told us we would be going home so we shouldn't get our hopes up on having the baby today. They started the discharge papers then the attending came in and wanted to check my fluids real fast but still thought I would be going home. So after getting checked out we found out my fluid levels were low and since I was two days past my due date he should come on out. Apparently when I am told I will be discharged it is code for you are having your baby today- the same thing happened with Maddie. With both babies I am not mentally or physically prepared, and this time I was hoping to at least have my hair and make-up done before going into labor (unfortunately this was not the case). I was attempting a VBAC so Cannon and I were being monitored very close, just the way I like it! (Shouldn't every pregnant woman and baby be monitored very close.) Everyone at the hospital was amazing! I went to 7 cm before getting an epidural  which was amazing! Then Cannon gave us a little scare and his heart rate dropped, doctors started planning for a c-section but he pulled out of it-yay! My cheer squad was amazing- the nurse, resident and Casey made me feel like I could do anything! I was actually surprised at how awesome of a coach Casey was! He held my hand and encouraged me the whole time. HE WAS AMAZING! Labor was actually a blast... we were all having a good time. Joking, laughing. I even had a little competition going with a girl down the hall who was also in labor- she didn't know it but I was determined to have Cannon before she had her baby. Nothing like a little healthy competition to get through labor! Cannon showed up shy of midnight and he was perfect! I was scared I wouldn't be able to love him like I love Maddie but the second I saw him I started to cry and kiss the little man. It's amazing to me how your heart grows. I couldn't love him more. He weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 inches long. STUD! So that's our story. I really enjoyed having a beautiful healthy baby- I feel like with the help of an epidural anything is possible! I could do it again tomorrow! We were able to get checked out of the hospital on Thanksgiving Day with my family and a turkey waiting for us at our apartment! Everything worked out perfect. Since then....

We've been adjusting. Mimi rescued me- I got naps while Maddie got to get rid of some energy outside the apartment running errands.  Maddie loves helping change his diaper, and has become a pacifier thief. Cannon tolerates his sister pretty well- she can be a brute so he is going to have to have tough skin with her. We are so blessed to have such a great little family.
