Casey and I found out a little green olive is growing in my belly! The first test revealed our new arrival on Tuesday, April 6th. The night before I had signed up for a fertility research study that would provide things to help get pregnant. That morning I woke up for work took and test and walked in to our bedroom where Casey was sleeping. I let him know that I was concerned about the research study I had just joined and I didn't think I would qualify... he was half asleep and asked why. When I said I was pregnant he shot up out of bed and kept saying are you serious, are you serious! I showed him the test and we both proceeded to freak out! We were so happy that the day had come! But then in true Julie fashion over the next week... maybe two... I continued to take more tests. A girl has got to be sure!!!!
(The constant testing on my part got a little pricey so Casey made me get the tests that they sell at the dollar store- and if you are curious they are just as good! Haha)We had our first doctors visit Friday, May 7th. The doctor said everything was looking great and gave us the due date of December 7th! At the doctors office we actually ran into some friends who are expecting there newest addition in only a few weeks- what are the odds! So its ture, the McDermotts have a VIP place in our hearts. They learned of the little green olive before anyone else! We were able to surprise our families on Mother's Day with the great news! We are so excited for our little family to grow- this news has been the greatest blessing in our lives. It worked out perfectly with Casey's med school break we planned months ago... I guess Heavenly Father really knows what He is doing! Our families are just as excited, they are such a great support for us and we couldn't go through all this without them!
This is Casey's family finding out the good news! The video of my family didn't turn out the best... I was crying and so its kinda all over the place. There was just as much clapping and yelling... well maybe not yelling but close!!!

WONDERFUL news Julie! Good job on the dollar store tests, take it from another pee-on-a-stick-oholic, they are just as good. Even better you can order them online for about $.67 each. :) Happy 9 months to you!
Congrats! Our Dollar store ones must stink. I took 3 that were negative with Julie. It took going to the Doc to find out what was up with me to find out I was pregnant, when the test just hours before said NO WAY! I'm so excited for you guys! Happy big belly to you.

Don't feel bad about the obsessive testing. Gretchen made John pee on a test to be sure they worked! hahaha and Chris ran a whole science fair project. He bought like 4 brands and set timers and all kinds of craziness!!! SO FUN!!!! CONGRATS!

Congrats to you both!!! I love that you took so many tests Jules- it's so crazy you!!!! Loved Chris' reaction- she verbalized exactly what we all feel!!!! Rest,put your fet up, it's time to take care of yourself. Eat right & well- don't worry about the weight-it will come off as you run around taking care of the little tyke! Dad and I love you both so much- wish we were there! Can't wait to see you in June!

Okay, 4 things...
1) You are hillarious. My first pregnancy I took 11 tests. One of every brand. I totally understand. haha.
2) Infertility sucks. I have been through much testing and treatments myself so you get whatever empathy you want from me...
3) That is like the freakin awesomeist thing ever. Im stoked for you.
and 4) GO YANKEE's. They rock. If you have a boy name him Hottie Derek Jeter. :)
Yes, go to babycenter.com. I went there about 20 times a day when I was pregnant and all the time after Colton was born. It is very helpful and fun to get the updates. There is a place you can look up answers to commonly asked questions and stuff.
Also, if you feel sick and can only eat slurpees and pretzels...baby will still turn out fine, so don't put too much pressure on yourself if you feel sick :) Hopefully you won't though!

I don't know what we deserve being the first to know about the green olive but we are so excited for you guys! It was so fun to see you at the doctors office even though it ruined the secrecy of the pregnancy. We know you guys will be the best parents! Congrats again!
